Tray Column CapacityThe capacity limit of an operating column depends only on the internal liquid and vapor flows and on their physical properties as liquid and vapor density, liquid viscosity and surface tension because all tray and column geometric parameters are defined. However, considering that the column composition profile is almost invariant if feed composition does not significantly change, the only remaining physical property affecting the capacity limit is the vapor density, which may change significantly with column pressure.
