GENERAL This chapter describes and discusses fundamental information for the design engineer in identifying the pollutants and local treatment for waste produced by small commercial facilities that are ultimately intended for discharge into a municipal sewer system or storage until removed. Since these facilities produce a varied number of waste products, guidance is given only for treatment. Local treatment shall reduce or eliminate pollutants to a level required by the AHJ and federal regulations before discharge is permitted.
