The company spent a great deal of time finding ideal candidates. On average, it took well over three months for the hiring process to reach a point where the company could make a firm offer. During those months, however, the recruits would often be poached by competing companies that were willing to make a job offer within three or four weeks. That left the international company scrambling, having to start the hiring process all over again.
