OVERVIEW
Robotics Based on the single-axis control system design methodology, well established by mid-60, the development of machine tool automation began based on numerically controlled machines (NC). The NC machines were used to perform unmanned operations of cutting, lathing, drilling, polishing using primarily 2D positioning devices.
