HEAT TRANSFER WITH CHANGE OF PHASEIn any process in which a material changes phase, the addition or removal of heat is required to balance the latent heat of the change of phase plus any other sensible heating or cooling that occurs. Heat may be transferred by any one of or a combination of conduction, convection, and radiation. Change of phase involves simultaneous mass and heat transfer.
