GLOSSARY Accounts payable The value of purchased goods and services that are being used but have not been paid. Accounts receivable Credit extended to customers, usually on a 30-day basis. Cash is set aside to take care of the probability that some customers may not pay their bills. Accrual basis The accounting method that recognizes revenues and disbursement of funds by receipt of bills or orders and not by cash flow, distinguished from cash basis.
