APPENDIX A: Useful Math
APPENDIX A: Useful MathThe material in this appendix collects in one place a brief overview of the various math concepts and problem-solving techniques used in this book as aids in discussing and evaluating the performance of a wide variety of antennas, feedlines, and accessories. The overview assumes only that you can perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and have a little familiarity with basic algebra—specifically, methods for finding a single unknown in an equation. If you have taken high school algebra, trigonometry, and geometry courses or their equivalent, this material will be a refresher for you.
