Digital Holographic Microscopy (DHM) As described in Chap. 6, the principle of digital holography was demonstrated in the 1960s.1,2 Later, in 1982, Takeda et al. reported a "Fourier transform method of fringe pattern analysis for computer-based topography and interferometry," where off-axis interferometry and FFT (fast Fourier transform) processing were combined to study topography of structures.
