10302001011304Measurement and PhysicsPhysics is the study of all aspects of the universe. Physics is about understanding how everything works, from nuclear reactors to nerve cells to spaceships. By "understand" I mean that we can predict what will happen, given a certain set of conditions. Physics is based on experimental observations that enable us to formulate theories, which in turn enable us to predict future behaviors. It is through detection of systematic patterns in our measured observations that we are able to formulate theories.
