This Excel workbook facilitates design calculations for the dissolved air flotation (DAF) process, which is used for thickening wastewater sludges and for removing suspended solids and fats and oils from water or wastewater. The worksheets include calculation of required air flow and required DAF area, based on either a design hydraulic loading rate or a design solids loading rate. One of the worksheets derives an equation for the solubility of air in water as a function of water temperature to be used in the design calculations.
