Testing of Metals

by: Alok Nayar
Abstract: Testing of Metals covers standard test methods for tensile testing, formability testing, hardness testing, impact testing, nondestructive testing, metallographic and other methods of testing. Each test method describes the principle, apparatus, general precautions and the test procedures. This book contains information on equivalent national and international standard "BIS, ASTM, BS, DIN, ISO and JIS - on testing of metals, hardness conversion tables, macroetchants and microetchants for metals. Besides this, a directory of select standards organizations, technical associations, and testing equipment manufacturers are also included. Testing of Metals is a must read for engineers and technical professionals involved in testing and evaluation of metallic materials, and undergraduate and graduate students of metallurgical and mechanical engineering.
