She is an expert in the area of transportation systems management and operations and the application of research results to improve traffic operations. Dr. Kuhn has taught introductory transportation engineering courses at both Texas A&M and Penn State; has authored numerous papers and publications, including chapters in McGraw-Hill's Handbook of Transportation Engineering; and is an active member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
